Using NDIS Funding for Therapy

If you or your loved one is an NDIS participant, you may be eligible to use your funding to access therapy services. Here's how it works:

How It Works

1. Check Your NDIS Plan

Your first step is to see if your NDIS plan includes funding for "Improved Daily Living" or "Capacity Building – Therapeutic Supports". This is where funding for therapy is usually allocated.

2. Choose a Therapist

You can choose a Clinical Psychologist, Registered Psychologist, Counsellor or Psychotherapist from our directory. NDIS allows you to select providers who suit your goals — both registered and unregistered providers (if self or plan-managed).

3. Discuss Therapy Goals

You and your therapist should discuss how sessions relate to your NDIS goals. This may include emotional regulation, managing anxiety, improving relationships, or daily functioning.

4. Book & Attend Sessions

If self-managed or plan-managed, simply book and attend your sessions. You'll receive an invoice you can submit for reimbursement or have paid directly by your plan manager.
